After seven days of intense work aboard the R/V SOCIB, researchers of the SRV group at the UIB and of Ocean Perception group at the University of Southampton are back on land. We have been deploying three marine robots every day: Turbot-AUV, Xiroi-ASV and Floaty-Drifter and carried out survey missions at Cabrera Marine Protected Area (MPA). We have learned a lot, but we are aware that there is still a long way to go. The GRASSMAP campaign has finished and we have months ahead of us to analyse the data collected. We hope to obtain information that will be of interest to the scientific community. Thank you Eurofleets+ and SOCIB. See you in the next cruise!
R/V SOCIB ship-time was provided free of charge for the GRASSMAP survey, as part of the Eurofleets+ project which received funding from the European Union’s H2020 Research & Innovation Programme under grant agreement No. 824077.
