FOCUS

The eHealth Eurocampus will support the development of innovative teaching material and activities that will improve the relevance and quality of higher education in the field of eHealth by adapting curricula to labour market needs, while providing students with skills of entrepreneurship through innovative and learner-centred methods. The main objectives of the eHealth Eurocampus are: (1) Improving the RELEVANCE of higher education in the field of information and communication technologies applications for health (eHealth). (2) Enhancing the QUALITY of eHealth higher education through mobility and transnational cooperation. (3) Fostering EMPLOYABILITY through curricula adaptation to labour market needs, taking into account the diversity of the European health systems. (4) Providing skills of ENTREPRENEURSHIP for students, especially those adapted to the eHealth sector. The eH-Ecampus uses ICT in healthcare is dealt from very different perspectives and disciplines: education, entrepreneurship, assistive healthcare medicine, medical robotics, medical imaging, privacy and data security, ethics and law, etc. Moreover, one of its main goals is to create an original eHealth teaching-learning space where university professors, students, researchers, and clinicians will be able to share their experiences and knowledge with the aim of improving the skills of graduates with the aim of improving their employability.

DESCRIPTION

The Euroregion Pyrenees-Mediterranean leads the European ICT project for health eHealth Eurocampus, which aims to prepare professionals able to innovate in the field of information and communication technologies at the service of health. This three-year project, from September 2016 to August 2019, is fully funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program. The eHealth Eurocampus project follows the Pyrenean-Mediterranean Euroregion's policy guidelines, which place ICT-Health at the heart of its action within the Euroregional Innovation Strategy. This strategy defines common and essential actions for the member regions to stimulate the integrated development of the territory and to develop the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Eurocampus, the first European university campus by number of students. This strategic partnership of higher education is led by the Euroregion and has the Escola Politècnica Superior de la Universitat de les Illes Balears, Facultat d’Informàtica de Barcelona (UPC), the Fundació Sant Joan de Déu (hospital and Catalan medical assistance network), the Fundació Balear d’Innovació i Tecnologia, the Université de Montpellier, the École d'Ingénieurs ISIS de Castres, the Glyndwr University of Wales, the Hochschule Ulm in Germany and the University of Cyprus.
